Working Hard

We have worked hard this week on what Suzy learned on Tuesday.  She has come a long ways.  She is so gentle and sweet that it is really easy to work with her.

The kids love to watch her do “push ups” and she rewards them by do really good with them.  For the most part if you put food in front of her and tell her to wait, you might have to remind her but she has made a good start.

Protecting during a storm.

We took her to my parents yesterday and gave her some non-drowsy Dramamine so she wouldn’t get sick and she did wonderful.   After getting home we took her with us to the grocery store.  She does a wonderful job “leaving” the food on the shelves alone and making Milton stay with her.  We ran into a very sweet 20 month old girl that wanted to pet her really bad.  We usually don’t allow her to be petted while she is working but we watched her sweetly keep her little fingers off and finally told her that she could pet her.  She was so sweet, petting her and giving her kisses.

Milton loves her and she loves him back.  We took her to his OT and PT this week and she did wonderful during the time he was bouncing and doing his work.  She doesn’t even mind it when a ball bops her on the head.

It is so amazing to watch one of God’s creatures to be able to be used so wonderfully to help out others.

Another work day will be done on Tuesday.  It is so exciting to see what each training session brings.

I'm the wife of my best friend that God gave to me over 20+ years ago. We have been blessed with 3 children, James (by adoption); Abigail & Milton (special needs child) and our service dog, Suzy. I have been blessed to be able to homeschool since 1997 and be the co-director with my husband, Michael, of the state wide Christian homeschool organization, MATCH since 1999. God has blessed us abundantly.
