Thank you Lord!

"There’s a roof up above, I’ve a good place to live, there’s food on my table, and shoes on my feet.  You gave me a your love Lord and a fine family.  Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me."

That is truly my feelings this morning.  I have always found music to be the way to correspond my feelings, whither I’m in a good mood or a bad mood.  And today our family is very thankful for to the Lord allow us to be safe throughout this long hard weekend.

Living in Missouri we never dreamed that we would have a hurricane come through our area but they say just wait if you don’t like the weather now it will change in a little bit.  Sunday morning we were woke up at 1:00 am to the worst sound of wind we have ever experienced and rain coming down in sheets.  Our lights kept going on and off, so out came the handy candles, just in case.  The wind just kept right on going and harder as it went.  Michael finally got called into work at 6:00 (he works for the local electric company as a computer specialist) and we didn’t see him until mid-night.  The storm started dying down around 7:00 and then by 2:00 yesterday afternoon it was completely over just leaving behind all sorts of damage.

As I sat with the kids during the day a song came back to me that a special friend of mine taught me when I was a very little girl and I think of it often still.  She told me that if I got scared during a storm to just sing this little song and God would give me a comfort and she is right it has and has also been used by my mother through some stormy times.  The words to the chorus go like this:

"I feel it in the air, I see it every where, the Lord is watching over me.  He’s goodness and His love, are sent from Heaven above, the Lord is watching over me."

Yes, I believe that the Lord was watching out for our family and extended family during this storm.  Nothing was damaged beyond repair and no lives were damaged or taken.  Thank the Lord.

As we start this new week, my husband was off early to work 6:30 am and I have no idea when I will see him again, but I know that the Lord is watching out for us.  The sky is dark, the sun is trying to shine through, and the SON within is shinning brightly.

May you have a blessed day today and remember all the blessings that we have to count.

I'm the wife of my best friend that God gave to me over 20+ years ago. We have been blessed with 3 children, James (by adoption); Abigail & Milton (special needs child) and our service dog, Suzy. I have been blessed to be able to homeschool since 1997 and be the co-director with my husband, Michael, of the state wide Christian homeschool organization, MATCH since 1999. God has blessed us abundantly.
