On the Roll

Wow, what a week!  We found out that the trainer and one of the founders of the organization we were planning to work with had pulled out of the organization due to some money that was stolen by the board and some other things.

We will be continuing our training with the trainer on a one on one basis which will be better and much quicker.

Milton & Suzy being "tethered" together for the first time. Best of Friends!!

More first this week.  We finally received the service dog vest and tether for Milton.  We found out that when we put her leash and vest on she immediately stood at attention.

Our first trip was to Howell/Oregon Electric where Michael works to show her off.  We are more sure than ever that God has given us a wonderful miracle because we can tell she has already been through some training.  When Milton would try to take off on his own Suzy would plant her feet andstandstill until he came back to where he should be.

Friday night a couple of hours before our storm hit, she was alert and watching.  I’m starting to get used to being able to sleep again, now that I know she will let me know when Milton is having problems during a storm.

Saturday we had to do some running around town, so our newest member went with us.  She did an awesome job!!  We are so proud of her.  We did find out that she does get car sick.  So we will have to work on that.

She defiantly loves the cooler weather.  She was outside most of the day while we cleaned and she is enjoying the outside this morning.

We are going to have to work on her sitting and laying down.  She doesn’t get that yet.  But we have gotten her used to getting in and out of the car finally.

Milton’s favorite time of the day, is when we allow him to give her the dog bone.

This week we will be introducing her to his therapy crew and working on sitting, laying down and staying and whatever else Beth teaches us this week.

Beth will be spending the nights with us after the class sessions so we will get to work a little more with her than most get to.  We truly appreciate Beth and Jenny sticking in there with us.

See you next time…

I'm the wife of my best friend that God gave to me over 20+ years ago. We have been blessed with 3 children, James (by adoption); Abigail & Milton (special needs child) and our service dog, Suzy. I have been blessed to be able to homeschool since 1997 and be the co-director with my husband, Michael, of the state wide Christian homeschool organization, MATCH since 1999. God has blessed us abundantly.
