A Fun Family Weekend!
What a fun weekend we had! This was Homeschool Day at SDC in Branson, Missouri and we had a wonderful time!
We stayed at Settle Inn and boy did we have a treat. When I talked to Judi on the phone about the hotel I had no idea that we would find such an educational time Friday night. The kids loved it there. Usually a hotel is just another place to get away for a short time or a place to sleep but this was an adventure! The place will be changing its name in the next little bit to fit its outlook, Stone Castle Hotel and Convention Center.

As we turned into the drive of the hotel we went under a drawbridge, that was our first site to the castle! Then we pulled up in front of the hotel and wow, to our surprise it did look like a castle, the kids were just thrilled. When we went into the castle we found that they had a knight in shinny armor standing at the desk. The knight that the kids loved was King Aurthur and the Sword in the Stone. They still haven’t gotten over talking about this big day.
The different floors in the building were named after different things in a castle. The rooms were gorgeous and had pictures of knights. There are different knights on the ground that the kids also loved.
After having such a wonderful time at the hotel and eating at the Knights of the Round Table (breakfast) we headed over to SDC. It was rainy when we first arrived but what a beautiful day it turned out to be! Cindy wasn’t able to be with us this year but Dusta did a wonderful job helping us out and we really appreciate it. They did such a wonderful job of planning things this year and the special scavenger hunt was great for the kids and to get them to interact with the craftsmen. Everyone was so good and helpful through the city and my oldest just loved it.![]()
After leaving the city our family stopped for supper and just took our time eating and being together, which is something that has been a foreign thing in our family for a little while.
Thanks you so much Cindy, Dusta and Judi for giving us such a wonderful weekend. We hope that everyone else had as wonderful time.
